About Heather A. French
Artist Statement:

Painting for the last twenty years, I have thought of spending my life doing nothing else. I majored in undergrad as a portrait painter at Parsons School of Design and then at Atlanta College of Art. While earning my masters at University of Pennsylvania, I switched to still live painting and was awarded the Charles Adams Memorial Award.

The dominant subject of wine and cigars was inspired by a great friendship. Dino, who happens to be a sommelier, gave me some bottles to paint and that was all it took. My interest and knowledge of wine and cigars has propelled my art to a new level that keeps me enthralled as the subject is worldwide and timeless.

A few highlights in my career have been: In 2004 I worked with King Estate Winery in Oregon for their holiday images. I have been honored when Lakeridge Winery selecting me for the 2006 Artist Series wine label. In 2003 and 2007, I was the official poster artist for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. 2008 I was rewarded with a contract to do 10 paintings for the Horse Shoe Casino outside of Chicago. 2009 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, I was also featured as the official poster artist. This year, Wente winery twice featured me as a special guest artist, once for a month long art show and for their Harvest Festival.

I have been very fortunate to have my work in several wineries, restaurants, other corporations and in homes of the most fabulous people with whom I have had the pleasure to become associated.

As always, I hope there will be more great things to come...
